	Best wishes for all of you for the new era of the Maya calendar. In the Maya system of counting time, the end of the old era happened at 3:30 am this morning. Monday I took four paintings to the printer to have printed up as posters, and was told they would be ready Friday. When I realized that Friday was December 21, 2012, it occurred to me that Paula Nicho Cumez, the artist of the four paintings, was the appropriate artist to present a vision of what our relationship to the world and the universe could be like in this new era. Paul is a visionary and she always paints from the perspective of what it is like to be a Maya and be a woman. Joseph Johnston
