  Diego Isaias Hernandez is an artist's artist. He has come up with some of the most original themes of any of the contemporary Mayan artists, and when he is good no one can surpass him in the titles to his works. His subjects cover the small mishaps of daily life to horrific natural disasters and everything in between. Isaias, however, is among the most jovial people one will ever meet. He deals with what life hands him and his neighbors with laughter. Isaias has several themes which are his alone and which he keeps coming back to, of course with different titles: a little accident; a rabid dog; drinking at a celebration. He enjoys playing with color. His colors, always brilliant, have become brighter in the last few years.
